EU-ROP at the World ROP Congress in Florence

On December 4th and 5th, part of the EU-ROP team had the pleasure of participating in the 6th World ROP Congress in Florence, Italy. Our delegation attended a wide range of inspiring presentations, engaged in fruitful scientific discussions, and connected with many international colleagues dedicated to improving the care of infants with retinopathy of prematurity.

We were especially happy to meet so many members of the EU-ROP project for the first time and to hold our first in-person EU-ROP Study Group meeting, which fostered valuable exchange on current progress and upcoming milestones within the registry. Additionally, many interested ROP experts approached us so that we hopefully will be able to recruit many new sites in the near future!

All in all, the congress in Florence was an inspiring milestone – and we look forward to continuing this journey together as EU-ROP grows further in scope and impact. We thank all participating centers, collaborators, and contributors for their ongoing engagement.

Happy holiday season

At the end of the year, we would like to express our heartfelt gratitude for your continuous support, your commitment, and the valuable collaboration within the EU-ROP registry. This year, we started with 731 registered patients and have by now reached 960 – an increase of about 30% in just one year. This reflects the dedication and engagement of all participating centers.

We wish you a peaceful and pleasant holiday season – a time filled with meaningful moments and renewed energy. May you start the new year in good health, and may it bring many positive developments and several publications based on results from the EU-ROP registry!

We would like to thank you all for your interest in the project and your ongoing support!

Best wishes,
